One of the most important Mayan archaeological sites and now one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Chichen Itza became a regional religious and ceremonial center during the Maya period Postclassic (900 A.D-1200 A.D).

During the scenic drive through the lush green jungle, en route to Chichen Itza (126 miles from Cancun). Among other important structures such as the sacred Cenote, the Ball game, the Temple of the Warriors, the Observatory, is the main structure "El Castillo", the pyramid of Kukulcan, site of the famous phenomenon of the equinox. For cultures in the world, this is a tour not to be missed. Guests can enjoy a two and a half hour visit with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

As an added touch, guests will have the opportunity to swim in a charming Cenote. The cenotes have long been the main water sources in much of the Yucatan peninsula, as there are very few Rivers throughout the region and the Lakes are sparse, therefore marshy. Therefore, the cenotes are relatively accessible throughout the year providing excellent water supplies. The main Mayan settlements required access to an adequate water supply, so the cities, including the famous Chichen Itza, were built around these natural cenotes. A truly beautiful.
